TEOTWAWKI ?

What would you do if you knew the end of the world as we know it (Teotwawki) was fast approaching? What would you do if you knew the year it was going to take place? What if you knew the way in which it would take place ... natural disasters, space projectiles or man-made disasters such as global economic meltdown, nuclear war, etc. ?

For thousands of years people have been predicting the end of the world. Historians tell us of a group that was concerned about Y1K. Astronomical signs such as a solar eclipse, lunar eclipse, meteors, asteroids, comets and the like have all been linked with the forebodings of bad things to come. In the modern world we've come to understand some of these things better, and while we know that the sun and the moon affect us, an eclipse is not the end of the world. Meteor showers are understood for what they are, but likewise we realize that large asteroids have struck the earh in the past and can cause great climate change and damage.

So what about from the Biblical point of view? If we believe the Bible record is true and we understand that prophecy portends things yet to come, then we have some things that will happen before the return of Christ that will be unlike any other catastrophe that has ever struck the earth, bar none.

On this blog we are going to do two things. We are going to examine Bible prophecy so we can get an understanding of where we are in the time line of events. We will also take a look at current events in the news that seem to point in the direction of the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, either directly or indirectly.

So back to my first question. If I can show you through this blog that the end of the world as we know it is near ... what will you do? Some people will surely live it up, living each day as their last with no cares for what comes next. A few with a religious our spiritual bent will probably take stock in their lives and attempt to come to some sense of reconciliation for things done wrong. Unfortunately, I believe the vast majority will simply choose to ignore the facts, feign disbelief, or give themselves over to seducing spirits of devils - content to live in ignorant bliss, never realizing the day of destruction is close at hand.

Similar to the Matrix series of movies, most people today only know what they are told. Reality, for them, consists of whatever is reported as such on the evening news. Entertainment such as movies, DVDs and video games take over the rest of their lives outside of their work environment. The fact that there is something going on behind the scenes, outside of the matrix, is so foreign they never even consider it.

I hope, for your own sake, that you are willing to step outside of the Matrix, take the red pill, and see how far down the rabbit hole goes.
